Turbine and Generator Refurbishment
Turbine and generator refurbishment can be executed either on site, at a satellite workshop at Matla power station, or at the Rosherville workshops. Services include:
  • Works Services refers to all the maintenance, refurbishment, modification and repair of power generating and auxiliary equipment.
  • Generator Services concerns rewinds and overhauls and is rendered from the Generator Workshop (rotors) or through Generator Site Teams (stators) as well as Generator Engineering for technical advice and condition monitoring.
  • Mechanical Services includes heavy, medium and light machining; general and specialised fitting and blading; governor testing and repair; blast cleaning; specialised welding and manufacturing of spares related to the power generation industry. 
  • Balancing Services balances turbine, generator and compressor rotors, as well as exciters and fans and offers inspections and locking of balance weights.
  • Bearing Services refurbishes and manufactures white metal bearings and components for clients.
  • Non-Destructive Testing Services is a non-intrusive means of determining the condition of material or components without altering its future usefulness.
  • Valve Services refurbishes low and high pressure steam and water valves on site to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. It also assists with the planning of spares and site requirements before planned outages, fault finding and solutions to problematic valves.
Turbo Gen Services brings a 24-hour machine shop service directly to the job site where possible in the form of Site Services. This is mostly needed for breakdown situations where affected plant is on the critical path.
